In May 2022 I drew Queen Elizabeth II as a tribute ready for her Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.

Now in memory of our Queen Elizabeth II, who died September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, was the longest-serving monarch in British history.

When I was 16 years old I joined the Second Battalion Scots Guards. During my service I was stationed at Chelsea Barracks for 2 years which was interspersed with a tour of Northern Ireland. During my stint in London I had the privilege of doing lots of Royal duties at Buckingham, St James Palace, The Tower of London. I also took part in several Royal Ceremonies including Trooping if The Colour at Horseguards Parade and Lord Mountbatten's Funeral Parade in 1979. I was honoured to meet The Queen and other members of the Royal Family on several occasions. I would never refer to myself a royalist but I always had the utmost respect for Queen Elizabeth II and of course was saddened when she passed away on September 8th 2022.
